Christmas 2019

Another year flew by, and  I always say I am going to be a better blogger and keep up.. I failed again.... so now it is catch up time... !
This year I wanted to  add some nice bright colors to my Holiday decor.. I am not a tradition red and green person...and I don't do the farmhouse, the buffalo plaid, the woodsy look..... I  have done the pretty girly girl stuff before in the dining area..BUT this year since I had redone the colors in the house.. I was ready to keep that pop of color.. SO I have the same tree in the living room, the Candy land tree..and the pink flamingo in the eating nook... In our bedroom I did a boho tree...because for the dreary winter days I added some new bedding and boho  things ... of course I will change the bedding out in the spring, and again for summer...  SO for now..Its Christmas decor.
I am in a face book group and the ladies do some amazing things with color.. wow.. they inspire me, in living color... I am not the only one with eclectic taste ! So  here we go... in the living room
I found a white Peace sign and painted it in bright colors.. made pom poms..lots of poms..then made garlands with them..  Painted some  jingle bells in fun colors to add to garlands. I took .. some cute little battery lights on the mantel..The Merry and Bright pillow for the chaise...some  big snow flakes and odds and ends... Also we have had the same art prints over the mantel since our last house.. I love them..but ready for a change...so they will be hung in the stairwell.. and I got two mirrors to hang over the mantel... out shopping that day, I saw them, texted my hubby to tell him I had been thinking of changing the mantel wall... and did he like the mirrors  ( oh how handy cell phones are ! )  His reply.... "YOu even have to ask ???? I  thought you would have changed it before now...."   gotta love him, he is always up for my crazy ideas.. any color..anything.. he goes with it..!
Then for the eating nook, I added a giant jingle bell,  I painted diva pink, from the tradition  Christmas red.. I found that at Burkes... a cute little  flamingo stocking, and a friend gave me the cute flamingo on a bike, and the big furry Phillip the Flamingo...The flamingo throws on the chairs.... they were a tree skirt I got on clearance last year at HOme Goods.. the beading is fabulous.. I cut up the tree skirt and  appliqued them to some hot pink, fade out (ombre) satin.. and so happy with them.
The kitchen had gotten some redo  in the past year..so I wanted to keep adding some bright colors.. I found paper mache letters to spell XMAS, made more garlands, bought the bag of bottle brush trees from Hobby Lobby, and bleached them for about 10 min.. so they were then a muslin color.. after the dried, I painted them with craft paint  to give them an ombre look.  I found party picks of paper  fold out trees, and some wool roving with poms for my alligator  ornament in the window. I leave the gator up year round... I found the pretty bling cloches in Home Goods...and did some little vignettes.
Also a little cupcake , and a sweet tree in a mug that says "Hello Sugar"...I even made a paper chain in fun colors like we made as kids.. and since it was our Pink Lemonade Big Chill fridges 1st birthday I wrapped her in a garland.. I still adore her...  This summer I painted a plastic giraffe PINK  of course..BUT then when I was out shopping the other day for Holiday decor.. in a clearance isle.. there was the sweet canvas of a giraffe..soo I had to repaint her to match the canvas print, and she also had gold leaf "spots"... she makes me smile ! And she will stay up year round , so does the No Prob Llama metal sign.. yes.. I like it fun and  funky !! You never know what you will find in our house.. I put a few things in the laundry area, since we use that back door a lot.... The runner rugs are new this fall, I love the pop of color.. even the orange in the flowers...Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!!.....  so here come the pix !!!!
