Magnolia blossoms for Mom

Many years ago we planted a 3 foot tall magnolia tree in my Moms yard.. And now it is so tall, Mom has been gone for 3 years now... and when I went by her old place I saw the tree in full bloom. I sure wish that tree was in my yard now. I am sure the blooms are extra sweet because of you Mom !

Welcome to The Lake

Have a seat on the porch, will sip a cold drink and get acquainted. We have been coming to this lake since 1976, when my parents bought a place around the corner. Dad didn't buy waterfront, he thought the bugs may be too bad.. so years later, in 1998 we started looking for a retirement place..we wanted a little lake front spot to build on when we retired..thinking let's buy some land and not build for several years. We saw this lot for sale, one we had seen many times on our way to the boat ramp (three houses away from here) . We bought it..and had the house (shell stage) built in 2000. AND then the fun began..yes it was time to do all the inside, electrical, plumbing, sheet rock. AND we did it all just the two of us, and we are still married!!!! We did pay someone to install the clear stream septic, install upstairs carpet, put up a metal garage, and repaint the house outside..THE REST we DID. We have since replaced all the windows, hired that done, and recently had the garage doors replaced, and over the past years many updates and redos !
